AAOMR-XDR Grant

The AAOMR-XDR grant is an Early-stage Faculty Innovative Research Award, supported by XDR Radiology. It is intended to foster the growth of early career oral and maxillofacial radiologists and the future of our specialty by promoting bold, innovative, high-risk, high-reward, imaging-sciences, pilot research projects that can lead to grant support from governmental and private funding agencies such as the NIH and NSF. Awardees will be required to present their findings at the Annual Session of the AAOMR, and submit annual progress reports and closing descriptions of their projects. Awardees will be expected to publish their findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals.  For more information, please click here.

For Dental Students and Dental Hygiene Students:

  • Charles R. Morris Award (certificate)
    Purpose: To encourage new investigators to participate in OMR research and encourage a career in oral and maxillofacial radiology.

  • AAOMR Annual Radiology Achievement Award
    The American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology presents the annual the Radiology Achievement Award. Recipients of this award are senior students at all dental schools in the United States and Canada who demonstrated special interest and accomplishment in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.  The selection is made by the radiology faculty in each of the dental schools based on the performance of students in oral and maxillofacial radiology curriculum. Recipients are presented with a certificate at the senior awards day in conjunction with graduation at their dental institutions. No application is necessary.

  • Purpose: To recognize the best poster on a Clinical OMR topic.
  • Only for US & Canadian OFMR Residents
  • AAOMR Research Award (certificate)
  • Purpose: To recognize the best poster on a Scientific OMR topic.
  • Only for US & Canadian OFMR Residents
  • William H. Rollins Award (certificate)
    Purpose: To recognize a graduate student or faculty member with an outstanding body of research relevant to OMR

For specific career paths:

  • Howard R. Raper Award ($599 + certificate)
    Purpose: Recognize an OMR graduate student who intends to pursue a career in academia.
